LAS VEGAS - Saturday opened up with all 3 teams taking batting practice at UNLV Baseball Stadium Here are 5 standouts from BP:
Tristan Hildebrandt, 2014, MIF - Easy, fluid swing. Contact, spray hitter. 2-hole type. Short swing. Good bat control.
Lucas Halstead, 2014, C - Has a chance for plus power. Great batspeed. Has strength to handle a wood bat now. Drives the baseball.
Jaret Vermillion, 2013, 1B - Short, powerful stroke. Can hit for average with power because he's so short to the ball. Flat bat, direct path to the ball. Simple swing. Fast hands. Big, physical Prince Fielder-type body.
Kaelan Crisosto, 2014, MIF - Easy, fluid swing. Line drives. Can handle wood. Projectable body with projectable power. Easy line drive swing.
Justin LaForce - Very balanced. Batspeed is there. Good swing. Gap to gap, physical body type.
