TAMPA - Prospect Wire is always looking to improve our events - every aspect, every detail, every person.
We have tinkered with some ideas over our last 2 events - some have worked perfectly, and some have blown up in our faces.
Some of the key areas of improvement we are looking to improve upon is better scorekeeping, with more timely results, and less errors. When inputting scorecards from paper to computer, typos can be made, results can be posted slowly, and things take awhile to update. That is no more. Prospect Wire will be testing Pointstreak's Scorekeeping App - the official scorekeeping app of Independent Minor League Baseball, and major collegiate Leagues like the Northwoods League.
Using Pointstreak will allow live play by play, updated results, over 2,500 sabermetrics, less errors and more timely results.
We have also implemented the use of iPads during our scouting workouts, to get those results posted in real time, so teams and players don't have to wait weeks to see those results.
Overall, these two changes will help people stay connected to our events and follow along at a much more efficient pace than the slow turnaround time of the past.
