Shown major improvement over the first time we saw him.  Grew about 4 to 5 inches and put on some more weight.  Good catchers build with tons of room to grow and fill out.

Defensively he is already a solid catch & throw guy.  His defensive mechanics behind the plate have improved nicely.  Solid blocking and keeping the ball in front.  Good footwork that has gotten much quicker.  Accurate thrower with a slightly above average arm already.  Should have no trouble being a 1.9 pop guy in the near future with a lot more development to come. 

Offensively still growing into body, so still using a lot of arms in his swings.  Adjusting to using wood like most 16U kids, but all the swing mechanics are there to say he will develop into a good gap hitter with average power.  Time will tell as he fills out as to what type of hitter he will become.  Far from done growing, so report is not complete.  Has the makings of a really exciting player to watch in years to come.

Wiry framed catcher that has put on some height (and a bit of weight) since we saw him last summer.  A strong, defensive catch & throw player with a good head for the game.  Takes control from behind the plate.  Solid blocking mechanics. Good, quick release.  Arm continues to develop nicely.  Footwork has improved a great deal since 2010.  Bat is developing as well.  Needs to add some muscle and weight to the frame in order to withstand a long season behind the plate. 

Swing gets a bit long, but as he develops upper body strength, that should shorten.  Hard worker, good athlete.  Should continue to develop into a solid prospect.  Will be an interesting player to watch as he starts to get stronger fill out.  Still young.
