Scouting Report
Brian Werner:
Undoubtedly one of the biggest "Big Game" Pitchers you will find.  Came into a 2-0 game late with runners on 1st & 2nd and proceeded to get his team out of it.  An intense, bulldog type pitcher with constant strikeout mentality.  The bigger the situation, the bigger he steps up.  A born leader through his actions, he can be unhittable when he really believes in his stuff.  Makes you wonder how he does it, but he just keeps continuing to dominate.

Scouting Report
Brian Werner:
Small, stocky frame - but don't let that fool you.  Gets every bit of talent out of what body he was given.  Rangy LHP that I've seen sit 84-86 at times, and 88-91 at others.  Big Game pitcher that rises to the occasion as well as any HS pitcher I've seen.  Ultimate competitor.  Can dominate a game from the mound.  Gets stronger as game goes on.  Power arm from a surprising frame.  Only concern is whether the body will allow his arm to hold up long term.  FB has life, rising action late; moves in & out with above avg. command.  Secondary stuff is workable.  CB/SL has makings of power out pitch; needs a bit more depth.  Good variation from FB makes it even harder to zone in on.  Plus arm speed with violent delivery.

From the plate, has occasional game pop, but tends to get a bit long with swing.  Needs to work on shortening up his stroke.  Swing stays the same in any count.

Overall, the kind of kid you really want on your team.  Intense competitor that fires up other players with his infectious attitude.  Ultimate team leader.  D1 Prospect
