Live Blog: World Finals East 17U Championship

JUPITER, FL - The CFBL Elite 17U Blue and the Chet Lemon's Juice 17U faced off in the World Finals East Championship game at Roger Dean Stadium. Right-handed pitcher Brady Singer got the start for the Juice and righty Zach Krider was on the mound for CFBL.

Both teams went scoreless in the first, which included a 1-6-3 double play and by the Juice.

Catcher Colby Brown singled to right field in the top of the second, but was stranded on first. Krider recorded his first K of the game and caught Grant McKown looking to end the top of the second.

CFBL's first baseman Brenden Rivera led off the bottom of the inning with a base hit to centerfield, took second on a pass ball, then advanced to third on a wild pitch. Rivera was stranded at third with teammate Dan Autiello grounding out to short to end the inning.

Designated hitter Thomas Lopez led off the third with a walk, and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Hank Weston Truluck sacrificed Lopez over to third. With the top of the lineup coming to the plate for the Juice, centerfielder Joshua Greene scorched one up the middle to score Lopez, and the Juice score first in the championship game. Second baseman Dylan Allen and LF Caleb Leach were both hit by Krider to load the bases for clean-up hitter Justin Ambrosino. Krider got out of a bases-loaded jam by striking out Ambrosino and forcing Brown to ground out and end the top of the third. Juice lead, 1-0.

The Juice chose RHP Blake Waldren to take over the mound for the bottom of the inning. Left fielder Ron Mitchell singled to right and Logan Blum sacrificed him over to second. With a runner in scoring position, Andrew Sadlon delivered with a single to the right side to put CFBL on the board and to tie up the game, 1-1.

Krider worked efficiently and recorded a quick two outs in the top of the fourth before walking Lopez and Truluck. Greene delivered again to with a single up the middle to earn his second RBI of the game. Allen followed with another base hit to extend the Juice's lead, 3-1. A pass ball by CFBL's catcher allowed another run in top of the fourth. 4-1, Juice.

Another pitching change for the Juice brings RHP Tyler Danish to the mound; he started the bottom of the fourth with a strike out. Rivera drilled one to center, but was left on first.

Right-hander Kyle Muth took the mound for CFBL in the top of the fifth. He worked efficiently and he Juice stranded one runner in scoring position this inning.

Autiello reached first, but was quickly erased with a 5-4-3 double play by the Juice, their second of the game. Blum grounded out for the final out of the inning.

Lopez reached first base on an error by CFBL to start the sixth, and was sacrificed over by Truluck. With bat speed, Greene delivered once again with a single up the middle to score Lopez and to collect his third RBI of the game. Leach singled to score Greene and advanced on the throw to home. Ambrosino grounded to end the top of the sixth and the Juice lead 6-1.

Muth led of for CFBL in the sixth with an infield hit. Sadlon sacrificed and Muth advanced to second. Reeves singled to left to score Muth, but was thrown out trying to take the extra base. Rivera grounded out to the pitcher to end the inning. The score is now 6-2, Juice.

With two outs in the top of the seventh, McKown doubled to deep left field, but was stranded on second. The score remains 6-2 going into the last half inning of the game.

CFBL has one more chance to catch up tothe Juice. Knarr singled up the middle and Autiello followed with a double down the left field line. With two runners in scoring position, Mitchell grounded out to the right side of the field, scoring Knarr. Blum recorded the final out with a ground out to short.
