LOS ANGELES - One of the leading tournament hosts in the country, USA Premier Baseball, will utilize Prospect Wire's ex-MLB scouting staff to write reports on top players during the 2012 Firecracker Classic. The Firecracker Classic plays host to 170+ teams across the 18U, 17U and 16U divisions, and draws plethora of college coaches and scouts to the southern California area.

Prospect Wire will have staff on site at a few different fields during the event, lead by 20-year MLB Scouting Bureau
veteran Don "Jake" Jacoby. After attending Prospect Wire's West Coast Finals (June 22-26) and Florida State Finals (June 9-13), Jacoby is ready to see the best of what California has to offer.
In fact, the Firecracker has become so popular on the west coast, that they have begun to draw teams from New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Kansas, Hawai'i and more. With 174 teams listed as participants on the site, the Firecracker utilizes over 30 different fields for this event.
"Because of the number of fields and the size of the event, we will only have scouts covering a few fields," said Bomeisl. "All of the reports generated from those fields are simply to try and give the kids additional exposure and assist college coaches who may have missed something special on those fields."

In addition to scouting the event, teams that finish in the final four will earn automatic berths to the World Scout League World Finals - WEST to be held July 27-Aug 1 for the 18U/17U division, and Aug 2-6 for the 16U, 15U and 14U divisions. The World Finals - WEST is held at Camelback Ranch in Glendale AZ at the end of the summer.
"If you come in the final four of a tournament of this magnitude, you have to be a darn good team," Bomeisl added. "We're humbled to have the top teams from this event advance to the World Finals - WEST."
