During the event, if you have questions, concerns, etc., regarding the tournament please contact the following:
- Brian Werner: National Tournament Director - brian@prospectwire.com
- Matt Schaffer: Asst. Tournament Director - matt_624@hotmail.com
or (727) 479.5661 (please note, Matt Schaffer will be working this
event from home in Florida, so he will be 3 hours behind us in Arizona.
Please try to use email, especially after 6:30 pm (Arizona Time)
- The tournament will have certified athletic trainers on site at all
complexes. We encourage your players to take advantage of Ice after they pitch
and any other services they may need from the trainer.
- Prospect Wire is proud to have 2 hour & 15 min time limits on all
games. Between the wood bats in the 18U/16U divisions, the BBCOR bats in the
14U division, and this extended time limit, we feel that the majority of the
games should complete the full 7 innings.
- A few rules to note: THE GOLDEN RULE - When in doubt, and when it's not
addressed, all rules are National High School Rules, with the following
exceptions:
- Two Hour & 15 Min Time limit on all games
- Teams will perform a coin flip to determine home team before each POOL PLAY
& CONSOLATION GAME. Once the playoffs start, the higher seed will always be
HOME TEAM. The only exception will be the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, where Home Team is decided by Coin Flip again.
- All teams are allowed to hit 10 batters. This can be a DH & EH. TEAMS
CANNOT HIT 11 OR MORE BATTERS. The EH can move in & out of the lineup, like
any other position.
- Run Rule: 10 runs after 5 innings
- If a coach or player is ejected from a game, that participant must sit out
that game + one additional game: NO EXCEPTIONS! If an umpire or Tournament
Director asks you to leave the premises, you must do so or your team may forfeit
it's remaining games.
TIE BREAKERS:
FIRST TIE BREAKER: HEAD TO HEAD
SECOND TIE BREAKER: RUNS ALLOWED DURING POOL PLAY
THIRD TIE BREAKER: RUNS SCORED DURING POOL PLAY
*NOTE - There is one POOL in the 16U Division that has 3 teams - those teams will play 4 games during POOL PLAY. For purposes of Tie Breakers for this division ONLY - the final game played we will drop the SCORE of these games, so Runs Scored & Runs Allowed are counted over 3 games, like all other divisions. This applies to POOL P ONLY. The results will count for the 4th game, just not the score with regards to TIE BREAKERS.
18U DIVISION: We will take 16 Teams for the playoffs. This means TWO teams from each pool will advance to the Playoff Round. The other teams will play their consolation games.
16U DIVISION: We will take 16 Teams for the playoffs. This means TWO teams from each pool will advance to the Playoff Round + 2 WILD CARD Teams (to be selected from the next two best teams, regardless of what pool they are from). The other teams will play their consolation games.
- Prospect Wire is not providing Scorekeepers for any games being played!
Instead, Prospect Wire has hired additional scouts to get relevant, REAL TIME,
Scouting information on stand-out participating players during the games.
- The umpire & home team, are responsible for reporting an accurate
final score to the appropriate Tournament Staff Member, so they can record the
results of the game for the website.
- All baseballs are provided by Prospect Wire
I am waiting on information from the Parks & Recreation
Dept on Coolers in the dugouts, whether or not the parks will be
providing water & ice, and whether or not parents can bring coolers
into the parks. As soon as I have that information I will pass it
along. I will be producing the COMBINE schedule tomorrow, and will
forward that to all coaches once it's complete. The schedule has been
sent to all coaches by PDF Spreadsheet, as well as being listed on our
website.
